About

Annie Sprinkle is an ecosexual multimedia artist who loves to collaborate with humans and other creatures and entities. Sprinkle began her career doing sex work and making adult films from 1973–95. She has documented her sexual evolution for over five decades, appearing in dozens of documentaries, arty films, and photographic works. Along the way, she met artists, activists and scholars who shaped her involvement in social justice, human rights, and freedom of expression, and she remains avidly committed to these ideals today. She has performed at the Museum of Modern Art (NY), the Venice Biennale, documenta 14 and received a Guggenheim Fellowship for filmmaking. She has authored six books, her last one being Assuming the Ecosexual Position–Earth as Lover from University of Minnesota Press, which she co-authored with Beth Stephens, her beloved partner and collaborator of the last 21 years.
